This blog is an online diary about how I found peace amongst the earth, magic in the garden and reconnected with the seasons. Nature indeed is the greatest soother of the soul.
My childhood was spent strawberry picking in the summer holidays-Heady sun baked days spent on bended knees amongst the straw, discovering the ruby red fruity jewels amongst the plants, often eating as many as we picked.
Half term I was to be found potato picking, often in mud up to welly boot tops & dodging either a rotting potato thrown by a testosterone fuelled school boy or an angry worm rudely awoken from its home.
I never appreciated either of these school day jobs until much later in life.
When the time came for me to leave school, I had no idea which direction to go or what I wanted to be. I landed in Sheffield to do nurse training-that I never completed-and here ensued a lifetimes quest of not only finding employment, but personal fulfillment. 85 jobs at my last count in 18 years, an exhausting rollercoaster of a journey!
